1938 Home, whose owner wanted to remove the thick and aged paint on the exterior millwork to restore the home to it's original aesthetic and grace. Zoom in on the 2 pilasters flanking the front door, to get a better look.
Paint removal begun. Of course we come across an area or two where decay has taken some elements back to the earth. As evidenced by the pink insulation visible in the lower right.

Bay window with 11" wide solid wood casing with lots of paint layers. Probably old growth lumber and if so definitely worth stripping and saving!
These broad surfaces are the perfect application for Metabo's paint planer, which is very effecient, has the finesse not to gauge up surfaces and hooks up to our HEPA vac.
Sanding completed. This bay window was stripped and finish sanded in less than 8 hours.
Look at the restored integrity of that surface. In case you're counting, there's 135 growth rings in 11" of width. Yes, old growth Fir and definitely worth it!
